Read this to keep your hair moisturized all week long.

Hello beautiful!

Maintaining your hair's moisture levels depends on two actions that you must take:
1. Installing deep, intense moisture on wash day
2. Refreshing your hair throughout the week to add in the moisture that will inevitably be lost over the days leading up to your next wash day

If you are not completing both of the actions listed above every week and are having issues keeping your hair happy and moist - this is where you must start to improve your routine.

"But how do I do these steps??"

To Install Deep, Intense Moisture on Wash Day you need to:
1. Remove all dirt and buildup off your hair by cleansing it thoroughly with a clarifying shampoo, moisture shampoo, co-wash or another cleanser of your choice.
2. Deep condition with a quality deep conditioner that melts into your hair easily.
3. Layer moisturizing hair products before styling your hair.

That last step is often missed or completed improperly. You can layer your moisturizing products in whatever way works well for your Hair Identity. Use the combinations below to start with and tweak them as you learn what your hair likes best!

Product Layering Possibilities:
1. Water + Leave-In + Cream
2. Water + Leave-In + Cream + Oil
3. Water + Leave-In + Gel
4. Water + Leave-In + Oil + Cream
5. Water + Cream + Butter

The possibilities are limitless. Do not feel like you can only use the LCO or LOC method, do what works best for YOUR hair. Your best product combination is determined by your Hair Identity and lifestyle. Click here for a step-by-step guide that will walk you through learning your Hair Identity AND building your moisturizing routine.

Another reason product layering goes awry is many women struggle with shopping for products based on their hair type and as a result, end up using products that do not serve their hair. Pay attention to the products that instantly moisturize your hair, make your hair appear shiny and easily define and clump your curls. These products complement your Hair Identity. Use this as the standard for every product that you use in your regimen.

To Refresh Your Hair Throughout The Week you need to:
1. Determine your hair's tendency of dryness. When do you notice your hair is dry? Every night before bed? Every two days in the morning? Take time to touch your hair and really pay attention to your hair to learn when the moisture is lost and you can feel that your hair is thirsty.

*Helpful Hint: In the beginning of my healthy hair journey, my hair was dry every morning AND every night. Don't feel bad if your hair feels dry nearly all the time. As you realize the condition your hair is in, you can truly work to solve it. And I am here to help you with this!

2. Once you know how often you experience dryness, then you know how often you need to refresh your hair. If you notice your hair is dry every morning - refresh your hair every morning. Learn to listen to your hair and give it what it needs immediately.

3. Refresh by lightly spritzing your hair with water or a liquid leave-in. You do not need to wet your hair down, and your hair shouldn't even really feel wet. Just slightly damp. After spritzing, take a water-based moisturizer and run that through your ends, the length of your hair and also pat the product into your roots. Don't touch your hair while it dries to prevent frizz!
